Welcome to The Allure of Adventure!
At 16, I took my very first trip abroad, to Europe. This was my first time on a plane, my first trip out of the United States, and my first taste of what would ultimately become a dream goal of mine- traveling the world.
In November of 2016, however, I had my first child, a beautiful baby boy. As a young family living off of one paycheck, travel seemed impossible for me and my husband.
However, after a lot of thought, I decided that it wasn’t money or having a family that was holding me back from my dreams- it was me. It wasn’t that I could afford to travel, it was that I had other things I wanted to spend my money on (like food!)
I was making excuses and putting other things ahead of travel. Desire is a powerful thing, people, and if you truly have the drive to achieve your dreams of travel, nothing will stop you!
If you are someone who has the desire to travel the world, but think that you don’t have the means to do so, I want to encourage you to travel anyway. We live such short lives, that letting the little things stop us from connecting and indulging in other cultures is truly heartbreaking.
The biggest misconception regarding travel is that it costs so much money. But there are plenty of budget-friendly ways to travel the world, for much cheaper than you would think. Don’t let this misconception stop you from traveling!
Whether it’s money, family, or time stopping you from traveling, I hope you can learn from this blog and be inspired to make travel a priority, despite your circumstances.
